Ingredients
• 1 cup flaxseed meal
• 1/2 cup water
• 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional for flavor)
• 1/2 tsp garlic powder
• 1/2 tsp onion powder
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1/4 tsp black pepper
• 1/2 tsp dried herbs (like basil, oregano, or rosemary, optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Mix Ingredients: In a bowl, combine flaxseed meal, water, Parmesan (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and any herbs. Stir until you have a thick dough-like consistency.
3. Spread on Baking Sheet: Place the dough on the baking sheet and press it into a thin, even layer about 1/4-inch thick. Use a knife or pizza cutter to score the dough into small squares for easy breaking after baking.
4. Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the croutons are golden and crispy. Keep an eye on them to avoid burning.
5. Cool and Break Apart: Once baked, let them cool completely, then break along the scored lines into crouton-sized pieces.
Store your flaxseed croutons in an airtight container, and enjoy them on salads or as a crunchy snack!
